Filmmaker + Creative Lead

Job Summary

We’re hiring a talented, story-driven Creative Lead who can film and edit a wide range of stories in both our brands: Voyage Pictures and Bradley Productions. On a daily basis, this individual will work directly with our core team, helping execute top notch cinematography and editing with guidance and input from Film Directors and Producers. We are seeking a quick learner who can jump into existing projects to film and edit. Someone able to learn new systems and workflows and isn’t afraid of deadlines. If you have a gift of storytelling, a passion for documentary, lifestyle and commercial work, and a solid base of cinematography and/or editing experience, we look forward to hearing from you.

Expectations & Responsibilities

Objective

Weaving together footage to successfully tell a story that moves an audience, while strategizing on time and under budget concepts in our company workflow. Additionally this role may serve in other filmmaker roles when not editing or doing cinematography. On-set roles may range from Assistant Camera to Director of Photography, Production Assistant to Utility Player for a variety of on-set productions (commercial, documentary, and event coverage).

Expectations

  • Responsible for filming and editing stories that are effective for clients
  • Choosing audio and visuals in post-production that tell an impactful story
  • Providing narrative structures that meet concept and objectives
  • Ensuring masterful edits are on-brand and client-impacting
  • Managing edit revisions within scope
  • Organizing, structuring, and archiving files and hard drives
  • Communicating with assembly editors and other post-production roles
  • Participating in project brainstorms and creative reviews
  • Understanding and managing a project’s post-production scope of work
  • Integrating internal and client changes to edits
  • Working independently and on a team
  • Providing masterful visuals through cinematography and other camera-operator work.
  • Staying up-to-date on new editing-related software and best practices
  • Tracking billable time

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years experience in a production or post-production capacity
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro editing software and a range of Canon camera gear
  • Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment
  • Exceptional work ethic and attitude
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, client-facing, and internal)
  • Ability to provide expertise on audio and color mastering when needed (preferred, not required)
